BS4NM Curriculum Use Instructions

March 2022

After almost twenty years and 3 editions, used in over 2000 high schools and colleges,
Biotechnology: Science for The New Millennium
books, lab manuals, and teacher support materials will no longer be published by a traditional textbook publisher.

First of all, I want to thank the staff at Paradigm Publishing, and later EMC, who signed me in 2004 and provided me with a huge amount of support and flexibility to create a science curriculum that prepares students of any age for a future in the science and business of biotechnology.

In light of these circumstances, and to get this valuable curriculum to educators in a timely manner, I have decided to provide the 2nd edition of Biotechnology: Science for the New Millennium (BS4NM) free of charge.

This means that any educator who can demonstrate that they are affiliated with an educational facility will be able to get electronic copies of the BS4NM Textbook (ePub format), Lab Manual, Instructor's Guide and Course Planner (lesson plans) as well as most of the online digital BS4NM resources for use in their classroom, all for free.

To receive access to the BS4NM materials, each educator will have to register with their "school" email address and provide other information about their teaching position and how the curriculum will be used. The educator will also have to agree to provide only their own students with copies of the BS4NM curriculum (free of charge and with no profit) and not to distribute it to other educators, non-students, or companies.

To receive access to the BS4NM curriculum materials you must acknowledge that all materials are presented "as is," since I will no longer be updating or regularly supporting the curriculum. The use of all BS4NM materials and recommendations are at the educator's own risk.

Anything you find on my Biotechnology Educator Website is free for you to use as needed. If I have given credit to another author for a particular document, lab, or activity, please do the same if you use it.
